Yanchep Golf Estate helps keep TRYACT wheels turning

Yanchep Golf Estate is proud to announce it has once again partnered with local cancer support group TRYACT, to help residents in Yanchep and Two Rocks.

TRYACT (Two Rocks Yanchep Cancer Assisted Travels) is a not-for-profit organisation that helps transport cancer patients to and from their treatment in Perth.

It’s the third year in a row that Yanchep Golf Estate has teamed up with TRYACT, which helps fill a gap in readily-available transport assistance to attend treatment centres in Perth.

Transport assistance for people living in Yanchep is not available through either the Cancer Council’s metropolitan travel service or the health services travel subsidy available to patient living in the country.
Yanchep Golf Estate has provided $2,000 in support to the group, to help deliver services and transport assistance.

Cancer survivor and TRYACT founder Sue Dash said she’s extremely grateful for the Estate’s ongoing backing for the busy service.

Sue said getting to and from treatment could be very expensive for patients, who are usually advised not to drive themselves.

“Having a cancer diagnosis can be extremely stressful for the entire family, so having an established system in place where volunteers will turn up on your doorstep and take you where you need to be for diagnostic and treatment programs, is one worry taken care of.”

Welcome to the Park

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon!

There was plenty to see and do when 80 residents from Yanchep Golf Estate gathered at Yanchep National Park at a special event to help them get to know each other better, and explore the beautiful natural features of the park.

“The afternoon was fantastic,” said Claire Scott, recently arrived from the UK. “The kids just loved it. We’d never been to the cave before and it’s amazing.”

Guests had the chance to mix and mingle over refreshments and games on the main lawn, as well as take part in guided tours of the park’s glittering Crystal Cave.

There was also the opportunity to learn more about Australian animals from the Native Animal Rescue group, and for the brave a chance to handle some ‘slippery’ visitors courtesy of snake handler Garry Davies.

The special event was all part of the Welcome to the Park series, a partnership between Yanchep Golf Estate and Yanchep National Park.

Yanchep Golf Estate residents celebrate in new park
